Glenn Beck Offers Tucker Carlson a Job at TheBlaze, Questions How Fox News Survives Without Him
“You lose Tucker Carlson — I think that really kills them.”
“I got to give you some breaking news. Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News. Wow!” exclaimed conservative radio personality Glenn Beck.
NEW YORK — April 24, 2023 — FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.
Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.
“So, no goodbye show. No, ‘Hey, this is why this is happening.’ Just buh-bye” commented radio personality Steve Burguiere.
“Holy crap!” responded Glenn Beck. “Why do you suppose that is?” he asked.
The thing that came to Steve’s mind was the nine-figure $787.5 million defamation suit that Fox News settled with Dominion voting systems. The voting machine company had accused Fox News and its prominent hosts, including Carlson, of spreading untrue information about them concerning the 2020 Presidential election.
Mr. Burguiere defended Tucker Carlson on this issue, saying, “He called out Sidney Powell famously and said, ‘You have brought me no evidence. We keep asking you for evidence, and you will not bring it!’”
One also has to think of Tucker’s coverage of the January 6 tapes. Senator Chuck Schumer called it “one of the most shameful hours we’ve seen on cable television.” In light of harsh media and political backlash, one has to wonder if Fox News pulled the plug on further tapes being revealed.
Steve adds, “One of the things that he [columnist Jim Geraghty] said he thought major media companies would learn was ‘don’t put hosts on the air that you think might be risky.’ And, I mean, if he wasn’t right, he’s proven right just a few days later with that one. Because if this is what it looks like, it certainly seems like they’re just trying to get rid of anyone who might say anything they don’t like.”
Glenn Beck jumped in, mentioning, “Tucker Carlson and I have become friends,” and gave an impassioned invitation for him to “come to Jamaica.”
“We [TheBlaze] would love to have you here. You won’t miss a beat! And together, [the] two of us will tear it up! Just tear it up!”
“That would be fascinating,” responded Steve Burguiere. “I’m sure there are going to be quite a large contingency of people trying to get that done.”
Glenn Beck ended with one last comment about Fox News parting ways with Tucker Carlson.
“I think that’ll kill Fox. I really do. I know so many people that still kind of like Fox. And they watch the other shows, but they’re like Tucker’s — Tucker is the only one that I really trust. You lose Tucker Carlson — I think that really kills them.”
What do you think? What do you think brought about Tucker and Fox News splitting ways? And will Fox News be able to thrive without him? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
