How Your Medical Privacy is in Extreme Peril

In conducting research as a DailyClout/WarRoom volunteer, it has come to my attention that medical facilities, as of April 1st, 2022, have a new ICD-10-CM code for the unvaccinated and are recording if a patient is not vaccinated, using code Z28.310.
Additionally, there are sub-codes for recording the reason why someone is unvaccinated. For example:
- Immunization not carried out because of patient decision for reasons of belief or group pressure (Z28.1)
- Immunization not carried out because of patient decision for other and unspecified reason (Z28.2)
This is a clear violation of medical privacy and is very concerning. Please share so that everyone can educate themselves and be aware of this.

Thank you to the diligent researcher who found this update on the ICD10 updates. As I was studying for the CPC exam a few years ago, I found that some of these diagnostic codes were updated for specific intents, all via the AMA endorsement. The advent of EMR has allowed “tracking” of medical history that could be shared not always for altruistic reasons, for decades; many of us “veterans” protested, yet, here we are. I convey this message now to my patients who are trying not to be experimental lab rats. Thanks again.
I should add, diagnostic and procedure codes are generally updated Oct 1st of every year. Note when exploring the code further, one is considered “delinquent” if their vaxx schedule, is not fulfilled on a timely basis. This goes for any “immunization” shot as well (children are tracked from birth/42 days old on via HEDIS) and their providers are required to ask why their vaccines have not been up to date if they are “delinquent.”
