Nearly 90 Percent Concerned About Dangerous Drugs Flooding Across Southern Border

April 27, 2023 • by Convention of States Action

As Trump Era Immigration Rules Set to Expire Next Month HOW MANY MORE? Rally in Austin, TX on April 29th is Pushing for Passage of HB 20—Legislation Which Would Empower Texas to Create a State-Based Border Protection Unit and Repel the Invasion

(Austin, TX—April 25, 2023) Convention of States Action, in partnership with The Trafalgar Group—one of America’s most accurate pollsters—is releasing the results of a new national survey. Results were from surveys conducted April 11th through April 14th of over 1,000 likely general election voters.

“The huge numbers of voters, from all political parties, showing concern on this issue should be a wake-up call to every politician and bureaucrat in Washington D.C. How many more Americans have to die before the federal government takes the threat of fentanyl streaming across our southern border seriously? Every 7 minutes another American dies from a fentanyl overdose, and month after month we hear of no real solutions coming out of D.C,” said Mark Meckler, President of the Convention of States and organizer of the upcoming HOW MANY MORE? Rally in Austin, TX. “Thankfully states are starting to step up, with the Texas Legislature now considering legislation that would allow the state to aggressively address the drug cartels free rein at the border.”

Mark Meckler is one of the  organizers of the event, where he’ll be joined by Ted Nugent, Congressman Chip Roy, Lara Logan, and real-life victims and subject matter experts on the ongoing border crisis at the upcoming HOW MANY MORE? Rally on April 29th at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, TX. The rally is highlighting the unfolding crisis at the U.S. southern border with the dangerous influx of drugs like Fentanyl into the U.S., human trafficking, and the national security threat posed by drug cartels and international terrorist organizations.

The rally will serve as a call for Texas leaders like Governor Abbott and other state office holders to take immediate, strong and decisive action.  The potential actions include, among other things, declaring an “invasion” at the southern border, securing the passage of Texas HB 20 (which will create a Texas Border Protection Unit), and declaring the cartels as terror organizations.
