China-Linked Activist Network Expands Across America

May 19, 2026 • by DailyClout

A growing network of socialist activist hubs is quietly spreading across the United States, establishing physical “Liberation Centers” in cities and neighborhoods from Pennsylvania to Texas while building what critics describe as a long-term revolutionary infrastructure operation.

The organization behind the expansion is the Party for Socialism and Liberation, commonly known as PSL, a far-left Marxist group that openly advocates socialist revolution, anti-capitalist activism, and aggressive opposition to U.S. foreign policy.

According to a review of public records, social media posts, and local reports, the group has opened or planned at least 28 “Liberation Centers” nationwide since 2021. These centers serve as organizing hubs for protests, political training, workshops, student activism, and recruitment operations.

The expansion comes as growing scrutiny surrounds the group’s alleged connections to a wider network funded by Shanghai-based billionaire Neville Roy Singham, a former tech entrepreneur accused by critics and lawmakers of financing organizations aligned with Chinese Communist Party narratives.

Investigations by The New York Times, Reuters, and multiple watchdog groups have documented Singham’s funding relationships with activist organizations that overlap heavily with PSL personnel and leadership.

The PSL itself has repeatedly praised communist revolutionary figures including Mao Zedong and has publicly echoed Chinese government positions on issues such as Tiananmen Square and American foreign policy.

Critics argue the Liberation Centers are not simply community meeting spaces but part of a broader strategy to create permanent activist infrastructure inside American cities.

“Their model is simple: find a local grievance, radicalize it, and turn it into movement infrastructure,” Manhattan Institute analyst Stu Smith told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Examples of activity promoted through these centers include organizing school walkouts against ICE enforcement, hosting workshops on prison abolition from a Marxist perspective, promoting “Trans Liberation,” and coordinating anti-police demonstrations.

The centers have appeared in both liberal strongholds and conservative communities alike, including locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oregon, New Mexico, Washington D.C., North Carolina, and Texas. Pennsylvania alone reportedly hosts seven separate PSL-linked locations.

Meanwhile, the network surrounding Singham has drawn increasing attention from Congress.

In June 2025, Republicans on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform launched an investigation into Singham’s financial activities and alleged ties to groups connected to protests and unrest in Los Angeles. Lawmakers cited concerns about possible violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act and alleged Chinese influence operations targeting domestic instability in the United States.

The Oversight Committee stated that Singham had reportedly become “the main backer behind” organizations including PSL and affiliated protest coalitions.

Additional reports from the Daily Caller News Foundation alleged PSL-linked organizations rapidly mobilized anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles and anti-war demonstrations following U.S. strikes on Iran, often coordinating messaging and protest logistics within hours of major geopolitical events.

PSL and affiliated groups deny wrongdoing and present themselves as anti-war, anti-racist, and pro-worker organizations opposing capitalism and imperialism.

But critics increasingly argue the movement represents something larger than ordinary grassroots activism.

A growing body of investigations now suggests the emergence of a highly organized ecosystem of overlapping nonprofits, media outlets, protest groups, and ideological training operations — many sharing leadership, funding channels, or strategic alignment with authoritarian governments hostile to the United States.

What was once dismissed as fringe revolutionary activism is now establishing permanent physical footholds across American communities.

And critics warn that may be exactly the point.
