“Naomi Wolf, a Woman of Class”
There are two kinds of Democrats. The Liberal Democrats I grew up with who were wrong on the majority of their point’s of view from my perspective, but that’s because I was raised a Conservative Republican. Then there is the modern Radical Democrat. These are the Democrats we confront everyday in verbal and policy battles daily at this period of history. The cancel culture, the sit down, shut up, we will tell you what is right and what is wrong, there will be no debate, that is the modern Democrat.
Class acts like Naomi Wolf are what’s left of a rare breed. A Democrat, one of the nations leading feminists, when women were actually women. A political advisor to both Bill Clinton and Al Gore. She has written for multiple leftwing outfits; The Nation, The New Republic, The Guardian, and The Huffington Post.
She has been interviewed by the proprietor of this web site, David Vance an interview well worth the watch. Still needless to say, Ms. Wolf and I’s politics are complete polar opposites. I am a Catholic, constitutional conservative, set firmly and comfortably in my ways. Just as Ms. Wolf is in hers.
I wish Ms. Wolf’s style of Democrat was still the norm. She stands for what she believes and unlike the Democrats of today she will debate you, trying to convince you why she is right, and your views on the topic are wrong. That deserves respect. As does the following:
Admitting when you were wrong and actually stating it proudly with her reasons why. This is what is missing from our modern discourse. This type of honesty on both sides is missing. It is where we need to get back to to heal our nation.

I wrote this four days ago. Wolf’s apology could have marked a turning away from that “shut up and sit down” culture that you mention. Not many people even heard about her apology. Conservatives didn’t even pick up it.
Wolf’s apology is one of the most important documents of the 21st century. It is could be as important Carter’s Malaise Speech. Carter’s speech alerted us to our forgetfulness and materialism. Wolf’s apology is a conciliatory document, a peace offering, that invites us all to meet in the town’s square for a truth reckoning. We don’t have to bring everyone with us. We can leave truth-deniers behind. However, those who love truth, no longer have to be afraid to announce it if they know it, look for it, or ask for it in their own terms. Those terms can be framed by the opinions of the Left or of the Right. No matter. Carter asked us to return to the old values that made America great. Wolfe is doing the same. She’s taking us back to the Ancients where nothing was more highly prized than Truth. Remember Carter’s Speech was embraced by the public for 24-hours until the right-wing media twisted it as anti-American. The public may not even get a chance to embrace Wolf’s apology or even hear it twisted. Wolf’s apology may be smothered by the left-wing media.
