Pace Professor Kontorovich, but the greatest misconception Americans and Europeans have regarding Israel’s war with Hamas is that the October 7 attack is merely the most recent episode in the 1000-year program of Islamic states and Muslims, to exterminate the Jews.
Thriving Jewish communities once dotted the middle east and north Africa. Virtually that entire area is now ‘Juden frei,’ rendered so not by migration but by massacre and forced conversion at the hands of Muslims. The exception is the last 800,000 Jews who were expelled to Israel following 1948.
The Christians who once populated those areas but no longer were likewise massacred or enslaved into extinction,.
Hi Naomi,
First of all, humanity owes you a great debt of gratitude for the light you have shed on the dark Covid narrative and those promoting it – a truly Herculean effort. Also, I appreciate your cautious approach to the opinions of your two guests – Professor Kontorovich and Karys Rhea, and your effort to provide a different perspective. Palestine has never been of major interest to me – until Oct. 7. I have no dog in the fight and just want to be fair, accurate and responsible in my opinions.
It seems pretty clear to me, however, that the perspectives of both the Professor and Karys are very biased. It was basically Israel is all right and the Palestinians are all wrong. It would have been better I think, for your viewers to have additional perspectives to provide balance.
In addition to the bias, I think there was some disinformation. For example, Karys’ claim that the average civilian to troop death ratio was around 9 to 1 in urban warfare and that Israel maintains an amazing ratio of 1 to 2 or even 1 to 1.
In comparison, the New York Times claimed that by August 18 of 2023, nearly 500,000 Ukrainian troops had been killed since the start of the Ukraine war in Feb. 2022. If Karys’ ratio were correct, that means there should be around 4.5 million dead Ukrainian civilians. According to UNESCO, however, as of Sept 24, 2023, there had been only 9,701 civilian casualties – and Putin is incessantly called a war criminal although the Russian military is killing 50 times fewer civilians than the Israeli military at their best (1 to 1 ratio).
I’ve read excellent articles (https://chrishedges.substack.com/p/israel-and-the-rise-of-jewish-fascism) by Chris Hedges (who lived in and reported from Gaza for years) and Max Blumenthal (https://thegrayzone.com/2023/10/27/israels-military-shelled-burning-tanks-helicopters/) a recognized expert on the conflict in Palestine.
You hit on the question of the unbelievable failure of Israeli intelligence, but there is also the question of how many of the 1,165 Israelis killed on Oct 7 were killed by the IDF. It is clear from the evidence available and the testimony of escaped Israeli hostages and IDF helicopter pilots that the number was large – perhaps even over 50%. You might also want to search for information on the Hannibal Directive for a potential explanation.
