“Trump Signs $1.2 Trillion Economic Deal With Qatar”

The United States and Qatar signed a series of major commercial and defense agreements on Wednesday that the White House says will generate an economic exchange valued at over $1.2 trillion. The signings took place during a meeting between President Donald Trump and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
According to a fact sheet released by the White House, the agreements are designed to strengthen bilateral ties, stimulate U.S. manufacturing, and deepen defense cooperation between the two nations.
One of the most significant deals involves Qatar Airways’ commitment to purchase up to 210 Boeing widebody aircraft, including 787 Dreamliners and 777X models, equipped with GE Aerospace engines. The deal, valued at $96 billion, is described by the White House as Boeing’s largest-ever order for both the 787 series and its widebody aircraft overall.
“This historic agreement will support 154,000 U.S. jobs annually,” the White House stated, estimating that the contract will generate over one million jobs throughout the production and delivery phases.
In addition to commercial aviation, the agreements include a statement of intent that could lead to $38 billion in Qatari investments focused on expanding capabilities at Al Udeid Air Base — home to U.S. Central Command operations — as well as bolstering air defense and maritime security infrastructure.
“These new agreements and instruments aim to drive the growth of the U.S.-Qatar bilateral commercial relationship, create thousands of well-paying jobs, and open new trade and investment opportunities for both countries over the coming decade and beyond,” the fact sheet said.
The White House emphasized the strategic and economic significance of the deals, noting that they reflect President Trump’s broader focus on revitalizing American manufacturing, attracting foreign investment, and reinforcing global partnerships.
“Since President Trump took office, his commitment to American manufacturing and innovation has attracted trillions of dollars in investments and global commercial deals,” the administration said. “Allies like Qatar are partnering in the United States’ success.”
Officials from both nations highlighted the agreements as a reflection of the growing cooperation between the U.S. and Qatar, particularly in the areas of aerospace, defense, and infrastructure development.
