Support NYC Veterans Alliance
I am grateful for our connection on LinkedIn, and the conversations and mutual goals we’ve shared in real time. Whether we worked together years ago or we met just recently, you know that I am passionate about service to this great nation and making a positive impact wherever I can.
After spending about a decade going to and from full-time Army duties and deployments, I’ve essentially invested my all these last few years to launch the NYC Veterans Alliance as a highly effective grassroots organization. We’ve had many incredible successes in just a few short years: Policy wins and passed legislation. Workshops and immersive experiences to train veterans and spouses to run for elected office–some of whom have already launched campaigns. Educating and informing our community about local resources and government processes. And we’re just getting started.
Regardless of where we might stand on the political spectrum, I believe we all can agree that our city and our country right now are in dire need of leaders who know how to work together across the divides of political beliefs and backgrounds to get the job done for our country–something veterans know very well how to do, and will do in large numbers as we continue to support them. This has been the most important and impactful work of my life. But it is also work that takes a broad base of supporters who pitch in to help and cheer us on.
I’m reaching out to ask for your support, in whatever way you can.
Right now every dollar and every partnership opportunity matters for us. Our staff is laser-focused on planning our March to City Hall Week, March 19-23, which will activate our membership as rising leaders, training them as advocates and giving them the opportunity to tell their stories directly to local elected officials. We’ve already booked appointments with nearly a dozen elected officials that week–and we have much more to do to organize our members and work out the logistics of what will be a highly impactful and inspiring week for as many of our members as possible.
To raise needed funds for this event, I’m training to march in the 26.2-mile Bataan Memorial Death March next month in New Mexico (a free flight, thanks to my extensive JetBlue points!), walking to work and meetings, and fitting in exercise wherever I can. To deliver the full potential of our March to City Hall Week, I need to raise $1,000 per mile that I’ll be marching in the desert.
You may be doing great right now–or you may be deep in the struggle of a new or ongoing venture. If you can help financially, I would be grateful for you to dig deep and consider a generous donation to provide vital support for our very streamlined staff and programs.
