“President Trump Launches ‘Make America Beautiful Again’ Commission to Expand Access and Conservation Efforts”

July 4, 2025 • by DailyClout

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a move aimed at revitalizing conservation efforts while expanding access to the nation’s natural landscapes, President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order today launching the Make America Beautiful Again (MABA) Commission. The initiative seeks to combine environmental stewardship with economic growth and recreation access, echoing the conservation legacy of former President Theodore Roosevelt.

Chaired by Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, the MABA Commission will be composed of senior members from President Trump’s administration. The commission’s mandate centers on opening public lands and waters to more recreational use, reducing bureaucratic hurdles to environmental management, and encouraging voluntary conservation among private landowners and industry stakeholders.

Expanding Access to America’s Public Lands

One of the commission’s core priorities is restoring and expanding outdoor recreational access for millions of Americans. The executive order outlines a vision that includes greater opportunities for hikers, hunters, anglers, skiers, bikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy public lands—an effort the administration frames as both cultural and economic.

According to data cited by the administration, the outdoor recreation economy generates $1.2 trillion in annual economic output and supports approximately 5 million American jobs. MABA aims to strengthen that sector by opening new areas for responsible recreational use and addressing what it calls “unnecessary restrictions” imposed by the previous administration.

Streamlining Environmental Stewardship

The MABA Commission also seeks to address long-standing concerns over land management inefficiencies. Utilizing what the administration refers to as “gold-standard science,” the commission will promote active forest management—a strategy aimed at reducing wildfires and improving ecological health.

By targeting regulatory delays, the commission hopes to prevent what it describes as bureaucratic bottlenecks that have historically slowed efforts to protect forests and rural communities.

A Legacy of Conservative Conservation

The announcement highlights President Trump’s prior conservation record, including signing the Great American Outdoors Act, which represented the largest single investment in U.S. national parks and public lands in history. During his first term, the Trump administration:

  • Recovered more endangered species than any first-term administration in U.S. history.

  • Added 1.3 million acres of newly designated wilderness.

  • Included 1,645 miles of new trails into the National Recreational Trails System.

  • Expanded hunting and fishing access on over 2.3 million acres of federal land.

President Trump emphasized that the commission will promote “responsible stewardship” of American landscapes without compromising access or economic growth. The move reflects a broader vision of **“conservative conservation”—**balancing natural preservation with private enterprise and outdoor recreation.

Looking Ahead

The Make America Beautiful Again Commission will begin implementation immediately, with plans to consult state officials, environmental experts, industry stakeholders, and outdoor communities. The initiative aims to reestablish American leadership in conservation through a blend of environmental policy reform, economic opportunity, and public land access.

As inscribed on the iconic Roosevelt Arch at Yellowstone National Park, America’s natural wonders exist “for the benefit and enjoyment of the people.” The MABA Commission, according to its proponents, is designed to restore that founding principle.
