Independent Media and Public Health: Journalist Dan Cohen Investigates Dr. Peter Hotez

The new media ecosystem is powerful. The destruction of carefully crafted corporate news entities as been occuring in slow motion over the past few years, alongside a meteoric rise in the popularity of new and independent media channels. The fact that individual people can fund other individual people who they trust to spend time researching information and presenting it in a coherent manner without billionaires, corporations, or politicians getting in between the journalist and the reader is a gift handed to us by technology.
Dan Cohen is an independent journalist who runs a media outlet called Uncaptured Media and works as a correspondent for Redacted, Inc, a popular YouTube nightly news show run by Clayton and Natalie Morris.
Redacted commissioned Mr. Cohen to spend some time doing investigative research into Dr. Peter Hotez. Dr. Hotez is currently the Dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, as well as a pediatrician at Texas Children’s Hospital. It’s noteworthy to mention that Baylor College is the institution that pursued a two-year-long lawsuit against Dr. Peter McCullough for treating COVID patients with Ivermectin and for cautioning against COVID vaccines. The lawsuit was recently dismissed by a judge, in a victory for Dr. McCullough.

Public Health Communication
There’s wide speculation that Dr. Hotez is on the short-list to replace Dr. Anthony Fauci as the head of the NIAID. As a long-time public health official with strong ties to vaccine programs, his potential appointment as Dr. Fauci’s successor could have a significant impact on the direction the US government will take when it comes to the future of mRNA vaccines. Dr. Hotez has also been a longtime advocate for controlled public health communication, and training doctors and scientists in communicating public health messaging.
Dr. Hotez even published an article called “Mounting Antiscience Aggression in the United States” in a biology journal in July of 2021, right in the middle of the year of the vaccine. In the article, Dr. Hotez complains about the “far-right” medical and science professionals who question the authority of the public health services, as well as US representatives in congress who questioned the origins of the virus and the safety of the vaccines.
Dr. Hotez concludes by calling for pushback against those who are questioning them.
At this critical juncture in time, doctors and scientists from all over the world are adding their voices in growing numbers to call for a complete halt and recall of mRNA COVID vaccines. At the same time, the CDC just added the mRNA COVID vaccine to the childhood schedule, effectively sealing in a shield from liability for the vaccine manufacturers, and is strongly encouraging the US population to get an mRNA bivalent booster for ages 6 months and up.
In the middle of this storm sit the US public health agencies, and the next director of the NIAID will play a crucial role in how it plays out.
“A Mouthpiece for Big Pharma”
Mr. Cohen’s research demonstrates that Dr. Hotez has been a “mouthpiece for big pharma” since the mid-1980s, beginning with his very first grant which was from Pfizer, and onwards to grants and ties to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Sabon Institute, all of whom are heavily involved in vaccine development. This culminated in him being a forceful public advocate for the entire government response to COVID, including lockdowns, masks, vaccines, and mandates for all of the above.
Dr. Hotez spent years creating his own Coronavirus vaccine, yet continually ran into the issue of Antibody Dependant Enhancement (ADE), which is a phenomenon where the antibodies produced by the immune system end up helping instead of defeating the virus. ADE has long been an issue with viruses that rapidly mutate because the immune system is trained by the vaccine to produce antibodies to the original strain of the virus, and is mismatched to fight newer strains. The body won’t update the antibodies to match new strains.
Dr. Hotez even testified before Congress to discuss this issue in his quest for a coronavirus vaccine.
Playing Politics
Dr. Hotez initially came out with warnings against the EUA for the COVID mRNA vaccine, back when President Trump was still in office. As soon as it was clear that the Biden administration would be taking over, he shifted his position to enthusiastically push the mRNA COVID jabs, up until today, at Jab #5.
Despite earlier failures, Dr. Hotez created his own version of a COVID vaccine called Corbevax (non-mRNA) and he’s been pushing to get EUA status for it in the US. He hasn’t yet been successful in the United States, but he’s managed to get his vaccine authorized for emergency use in third-world countries like India, Botswana, and Indonesia while being hailed as a hero for sharing the formula at low cost in a never-ending quest for “equity”.
