“How ‘Writing Joy’ Changed My Life”
Hello, Dr. Naomi Wolf–
I just started The Indoctrinated Brain, with your powerful introduction. I wanted to let you know that I’ve come up with a way to deal with the fear-mongering. It’s a spiritual practice I developed when I was going through a rough time with my health–Writing Joy. I spend at least 15 minutes each day writing about the good stuff in my life, and after the first 10 days of doing it, I had a new mind. Writing reinforces everything, so by writing the good stuff I created strong neural networks that made my brain flake off all the petty annoyances that can drive us crazy. And it has definitely helped me during these very rough times in the world.
One other thing, since I’m in my teacher mode. I think we could be headed for some rough economic times. Powell at the Fed and Yellen at Treasury are dangerously incompetent because they live in bubbles of wealth and privilege. Since they don’t buy their own food or pump their own gas they have no sense of what we real folks are facing, which is why they were sure that the inflation was transitory for over a year. So I’m stocking away as much money as I can, and I suggest you do the same. The book that helps me get a new perspective on how to do that is Your Money or Your Life, by Vicki Robin and Joe Dominguez, and it’s still in print and available on Amazon.
As always, I wish you and your loved ones well, and congratulations on your continuing fine and important work.
Sincerely,
Cindy
