To the Editor: Response to Expressionless Babies, Bored Lovers, And Other Changes in the Human Condition
This letter was written in response to “Expressionless Babies, Bored Lovers, And Other Changes in the Human Condition” by Dr. Naomi Wolf
Dear DailyClout,
I do agree that many people have somehow lost a significant part of their soul and an empathy deficit epidemic has swept the world in recent years. And I agree that there’s a literal physiological contribution to this by the shots that have been pushed upon most of humanity as supposed magical elixirs that deliver us from the COVID-19 monster seeking to devour us. The spike protein and the LNPs attack our body in so many ways (including our brains) and make us different people unable to engage normally with one another. This kind of attack on our very souls is not a new phenomenon and is such a toxic insult to our bodies. While it may indeed be a kind of biological accelerator to this deterioration of our very humanity, it is not the only cause of it.
In my life, I first started to understand how humans can come to model “Expressionless Babies, Bored Lovers, And Other Changes in the Human Condition” in my college years and afterward. I came in close contact with many others who had come from totalitarian societies where people were deliberately trained to lose touch with their humanity. Children were turned against parents and parents were taught that their children were not their own. People were taught to hate their heritage and trust only their great and magnanimous leaders and believe them to be good no matter how cruel and sadistic and miserly to the people they were. I knew some who met family and friends after decades of separation and could not believe how much they had changed. In every case that I knew they said there was a disconnect with those who had lived in such devolved societies for so long. They lost their ability to love and to care even for their own families and people who had been their close friends.
I also have come to more fully understand that this trend in the loss of the natural human connection to one another has been spreading for a long time. What’s different about the last three or four years is that the arsonists seeking to burn up our very souls stepped up their efforts to tear down and destroy us on a massive scale. What is truly unique this time is the massive global scale of the attack – this is unprecedented in human history as far as I can tell.
One of the epicenters of today’s degeneration of the human spirit with loss of love and empathy is within the medical system and its workers. This is not new. I and those close to me had encounters with the medical system decades ago that involved the same things we are seeing today on a larger scale: Distant, unfeeling healthcare professionals who trivialized our conditions, dismissed our testimonies regarding what we were experiencing, and ultimately called us mentally ill people making up our conditions – or our children’s conditions. As I listen to more injured families (from vaccines or other failures of the medical system) I see that many of their experiences involving loss of human empathy also began many years or decades ago. Most of us (including myself) had, however, failed to understand the scope of what has been trending overall in our society for decades and did not adequately speak out and fight this cancer of the human soul. I was shaken to recently listen to a portion of a medical board hearing deciding the level of punishment to be recommended for Dr. Meryl Nass regarding failures in her professional conduct that they perceived. In my opinion, there was no concern among anyone in the group deciding her fate who spoke (at least in the portion I heard) for her as a person. I also heard no acknowledgment of any of the contrary evidence that had been presented to them. I could not detect a single sign of a single ounce of empathy, compassion, or unconditional dedication to the truth. There was no hint of a desire for the ultimate well-being of Dr. Nass and her patients. This is what we are seeing now in society on a massive scale, a kind of global invasion of the body snatchers in almost every institution with any degree of power over others. Over and over again, we are heaping great injustices and cruelties upon one another and usually not a single person speaks out and pushes back as the cruelty builds and spins out of control.
So, what shall we do? We must fiercely remain loyal to our principles and our pursuit of the truth (while remaining humble and vigilant and ready to recognize when we have gotten it wrong) and we must love others with all our hearts and souls – even offering our love to those who are unlovable. We may perceive them as the embodiment of the evil that is being foisted upon the world, but we must recognize that they probably have some goodness and a soul within them even though it may be lost from our view for now. Such sickly souls might have easily become or still could become if we do not remain on guard and be ready to stick to our principles no matter the cost. We must stand ready to defend others and ourselves no matter what slanders, punishments, and tortures may be heaped upon us. For, in the end, nothing else matters but love.
Sincerely,
A Reader
