To the Editor: “Some Patients Told Me They Have Been Bleeding For Over One Year”
Dear DailyClout,
The fertility studies (injecting dye under anesthesia) in our surgery center are increasing. I have never seen these done in surgery before but maybe that’s because my background was orthopedic. Approximately 80% have blocked tubes. Ages 24-38. About 6-8 per week. We [a health care network in the Midwest] are still doing dilation and curettage (D&C), and hysteroscopies more than any other procedures (we do eyes, feet, hands, orthopedic, etc.). All of them are for menorrhagia and/or post-menopausal bleeding. Some patients have told me they have been bleeding for over one year. Some are nurses and other healthcare workers.
When I brought it up, one surgeon admitted she thinks it’s the shots. She said many of the calcified uteruses we have seen are advanced uterine cancer, one woman as young as 32. The other surgeons are oblivious or won’t say anything. It is frustrating, to say the least. This is hard to see and hope your voice may help others.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Registered Nurse
