Mr. Naomi Klein: Pharma Policy Spokesman
Well, here we are. Avi Lewis, husband of Naomi Klein, the formerly distinguished intellectual who now apparently has written a whole book about how much she hates me, is hosting a ‘Public PharmaCare NOW!’ round table.
‘PharmaCare’ is a proposal by Health Canada to use public taxpayer funds to pay for pharmaceuticals for all Canadians. A multi-billion dollar win for Big Pharma if passed. No more pesky capitalism to threaten shareholder revenues! PharmaCare is the entity for which Avi Lewis hosted round table advocacy. What impact did PharmaCare Canada’s partnership with Avi Lewis have on his wife’s decision to devote an entire BOOK to her feelings of hostility toward me? None surely.Â
You can’t make this up. As @NaomiAKlein is on tour with a book that seeks to cancel me ONCE and FOR ALL, her husband Avi Klein is hosting town halls in Canada advocating for ‘PharmaCare’, a multibillion payday for Big Pharma if it is Health Canada policy; using taxpayer $$$ to fund pharmaceuticals for millions of Canadians. Profits for Pharma forever with no risk. No relationship at all to a worldwide book tour by Lewis’ wife seeking to smear me (yet again) — I am sure! m.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ0fb1
Avi Lewis is acting as a spokesperson for a $$$$ Big Pharma-boosting policy— even as his wife globally promotes a book that seeks to take me down:
“Public Pharmacare Now! A town hall hosted by Avi Lewis in London, Ontario on May 17, 2023. An outspoken activist and a seasoned broadcaster, Avi Lewis was joined by patient advocate Erin Little, health economist and associate professor at Western University, Dr. Ava John-Baptiste, LIFE*SPIN community advocate Nicole Davis, and writer, Type 1 diabetic, and relative of Sir Frederick Banting, inventor of insulin Rebecca Redmond. Organized in collaboration with the London chapter, London and District Labour Council, and London Health Coalition. The Council of Canadians is collaborating with regional and local organizations across the country to organize town halls spotlighting the many, many stories of people struggling with the high cost of medication.
