“House Probes Pfizer Vaccine Timing After GSK Tip — DailyClout Broke the Story in 2023”

The U.S. House Judiciary Committee has launched a renewed investigation into whether Pfizer delayed announcing the results of its COVID-19 vaccine trial during the 2020 election cycle, following new information provided by British pharmaceutical company GSK.
According to a press release issued May 15, the committee is examining whether senior executives at Pfizer may have intentionally withheld data in a manner that could have influenced the outcome of the 2020 U.S. presidential election. The investigation centers on statements made by Dr. Philip Dormitzer, a former Pfizer executive who later joined GSK.
The story was first broken by DailyClout in 2023, revealing that federal prosecutors had begun reviewing similar allegations.
Dormitzer, who played a key role in the development of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, reportedly told GSK colleagues that the announcement of trial success was strategically timed. After joining GSK in 2021, Dormitzer allegedly expressed concerns in November 2024—shortly after President Donald Trump won reelection—about potential legal exposure. According to GSK’s response to a congressional inquiry, Dormitzer, “visibly upset,” requested a relocation to Canada and said, “Let’s just say it wasn’t a coincidence, the timing of the vaccine.”
In response to prior inquiries, Dormitzer told Fierce Pharma that he and others at Pfizer did “everything we could” to submit the data to the FDA as soon as possible, and that any contrary interpretation of his comments would be inaccurate. GSK emphasized that Dormitzer did not indicate whether Pfizer CEO Dr. Albert Bourla was aware of any alleged delay.
The Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), has sent formal requests to both Dormitzer and Dr. Bourla seeking all documents and communications related to the timing of the vaccine data announcement. Dormitzer, who left GSK in December 2024, has also been asked to testify in a transcribed interview.
The original announcement of Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine efficacy came on November 9, 2020—six days after Election Day and two days after major media outlets projected Joe Biden as the winner of the presidential race. Former President Trump criticized the timing at the time, suggesting the delay was politically motivated.
Neither GSK nor Pfizer has issued a formal comment on the latest developments. Dormitzer also has not responded publicly.
The inquiry remains ongoing.
