Naomi, if you really want the deep skinny on Michael Mann and his hockey stick, you should consult either Steve McIntyre or Prof. Ross McKitrick or, better, both.
They have analyzed Mann’s hockey stick in detail and refuted it. They’ve published a number of papers on it. The first was in 2003, here: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1260/095830503322793632. It obliterates Mann’s stick.
Just to say. they show the hockey stick was produced using fraudulent methods.

Just to say, the radiation physics of CO2 is well-established. It does act to inject heat (kinetic energy) into the atmosphere. The central question is how the climate responds. There may be no change in sensible heat (temperature) at all.

The whole AGW thing is a crock. And climate scientists are suicidal because, candidly, they’re not scientists. They don’t know how to assess the physical reliability of their own data and models. Effectively, in their ignorance, they’re misleading themselves.
