“The Attempt on President Trump’s Life”
Dr Naomi Wolf analyzes, almost as soon as President Trump was shot at in Pennsylvania, what the assassination attempt means in terms of the murderousness of the current regime, and the lengths to which they will go to do away with the opposition now that they have no sentient candidate and no “bench”. She puts these events in context with her last warning about Steve Bannon’s incarceration, “What Time It Is”, and warns that more violence and mafia-type tactics are on the way in these next four highly dangerous months.
The Incident: What We Know
Multiple sources, including Mario Naufal’s spaces, Fox, ABC News, and Real America’s Voice, have confirmed the terrifying incident. “There were four to six shots,” Naomi Wolf stated. From the video, it appears President Trump was hit on the right ear, resulting in visible blood. The swift response of the Secret Service was remarkable, as they surrounded him with their bodies and escorted him to safety. “He surfaced again, got up again, which was incredibly brave,” Dr. Wolf added, describing Trump’s defiant gesture as he raised his fist before being taken to a hospital.
The Uncertain Aftermath
While initial reports from a physician suggest the bullet did not cause catastrophic damage, the situation remains uncertain. “Adrenaline can also make people be able to react, able to respond, lift their arms, walk away, et cetera,” Dr. Wolf noted, highlighting the potential for unseen injuries. The gunman remains at large, adding to the sense of fear and urgency.
A Call for Reflection and Action
This incident is not just an attack on President Trump; it symbolizes a deeper threat to our democracy. “Whether you like President Trump or not, this is not how America is supposed to work,” Wolf emphasized. She urged everyone to pray for Trump and his family, and to reflect on what this means for our country. “This is the time we’re in. There is what I’ve called a mopping up of the opposition.”
The Bigger Picture
Dr. Wolf connected this event to a broader pattern of silencing dissenting voices, mentioning figures like Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon, as well as the censorship efforts against Elon Musk and Mark Stein. “These are Nazi tactics. These are, you know, deep, deep corrupt banana republic tactics,” she warned, calling for a collective awakening and action.
Taking Responsibility
It’s a call to arms, albeit peaceful and legal ones. Dr. Wolf urged listeners to secure their food and water supplies, understand their state’s legislation, and protect their vote. “You need to call a meeting with your neighbors. You need to know what will happen if people start knocking on your door,” she advised. The importance of noncompliance and active resistance was a recurring theme. “You have to prepare, you have to fight peacefully and you have to take back your country.”
A Final Plea
In her impassioned address, Dr. Wolf reflected on the historical parallels, drawing comparisons to Mussolini’s Italy and the dangers of waiting for someone else to act. “Please don’t keep thinking times are normal right now. Times are not normal,” she stressed. The urgency of the moment is clear: “It’s time for you to understand what’s going on at the state level, at the federal level to make your voice heard.”
Conclusion
As the nation grapples with this shocking event, Dr. Naomi Wolf’s message is clear: it’s time to wake up, unite, and take action to preserve the democratic principles we hold dear. Let’s pray for President Trump, his family, and our country as we navigate these perilous times.
In this real-time video commentary Naomi is conflating the attempted assassination of President Trump with the politically-motivated jailing of Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro. Naomi kept saying of the Butler, PA shooting “They are trying to kill him.” As it turns out, there is not a “they” here: the shooter was indeed a 20-year-old lone wolf who, as far as we know at this point, legally obtained his AR-15 gun.
The question Naomi should ask out loud is this: Is not the Second Amendment envisioned to empower individual U.S. citizens to take out any political person they deem, through their own subjective and even demented reasoning, to be a threat to their liberty? In other words, was not the attack on former President Trump on July 13th what the Second Amendment envisions? If that is not what the Second Amendment envisions, then it is incumbent upon the Second Amendment’s defenders, like Naomi, to spell out, and in precise detail, what the circumstances would be that would enable a citizen or group of citizens to kill a government officer holder or office seeker who is endangering American freedoms. To not do so, is to shirk most basic intellectual responsibility, and to take comfort in the intellectual/emotional affirmation of the uncritical mob psyche.
More broadly, we must come to grips with the fact that in this gun-saturated society, fueled by the ideology of the Second Amendment, a very narrow slice of people are, and increasingly will be, willing to run for public office. Most people value their lives, which is totally normal and rational. Most normal human beings do not want to be martyrs for political causes. Hence, the psychological profile of the people running for office, be it from right, left or center, far from being representative of the aspirations of average/normal pro–peace and pro-prosperity Americans, are actually quite non-representative, psychologically speaking.
The Second Amendment is distorting our domestic political life in profound ways, while giving a dangerous false sense of security to millions upon millions of Americans that stockpiling weapons in their homes will prevent a slide into tyrannical government. Mr. Bannon and Mr. Navarro can now attest that the Second Amendment didn’t do much to protect them from tyranny.
We need government reform, and the strengthening of our First Amendment freedoms, not the Second Amendment-fueled fantasy that stockpiling guns will be the guarantor of our American freedoms.
In the wake of this assassination attempt of former president Trump, it is incumbent upon genuine intellectuals who still defend the Second Amendment to stop the flag-waving and red meat-throwing rhetoric, and get specific about what circumstances would morally justify ordinary citizens to attempt to murder government office holders and seekers they deem to be tyrannical and threats to liberty.
