“Romanian Unrest: Thousands Demand Election Redo in Bucharest”

A massive demonstration occurred in Bucharest, during which thousands of people demanded a second round of presidential elections. The constitutional court annulled the results of the first round, which triggered the largest protest so far.
On Sunday, a huge demonstration passed through Bucharest, with participants calling for the second round of presidential elections. It was the largest protest against the decision of the constitutional court.
In December, the court annulled the results of the first round, in which pro-Russian candidate Călin Georgescu was victorious.
The protest was organised by the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) party. Its leader, George Simion, declared that demonstrations will continue until the demands are met.
