Freedom Group Meeting April 12, 2024
Again another 30 people enjoyed a delicious potluck and lots of great content some of which is stated here. I recommend you save this page or print it out.
The next meeting is May 17, 6:00-8:00 at the VFW, 800 South Main Street, Gt. Barrington, MA.
- Melissa and Peter Martin from Dandelion Hill Farm in Sheffield, MA shared about their farm and the unique qualities of raw goat’s milk products. They practice regenerative, intentionally biodynamic farming. It’s a labor of love. They always welcome community support. FYI, they still have some raw milk shares available. Also, they are looking for help milking!! Contact them at https://www.dandelionhillfarms.com/
- Next, Veronica shared about how she came to create a directory for her rural community so she could know the resources around her. Carol Connolly from our group agreed to be the point person for our own digital directory. I will send her letter separately on a different email and respond to her as directed in that letter if you want to be in the directory. We can add as we go along, but if you can get the info into her ASAP she will format it and send it ASAP.
- Datta Haynes, our very own stand-up comedian, did not show us a rocket stove, but instead, talked about things to have on hand “just in case…” , like extra food to feed you and your surrounding community; a GMSR radio (2-way) that doesn’t require internet along with a signal repeater to extend the range; a Geiger counter in case of radiation, and more. He is very knowledgeable and can be can contacted at dattahaynes@gmail.comif you want his advice.
In addition:
Krysia has an herbal products CSA opportunity. If you’re interested in knowing more, visit her at http://medicinebuddhagardens.com/ or call 413-717-9392.
Anna Stanton offered to connect us to a Signal group called Sunshine Ark. Signal is an app that is encrypted for privacy. On it, we can share events, resources, needs, opportunities, etc. It requires you send her your first and last name and phone number so she can add you. Contact anna.stanton09@gmail.com. Names can be added at any time as we go along.
Lastly, please take a look at http://communityhubb.org/ to see and post local events and subscribe to their newsletter. Many of you have sent event notifications to me. It’s best to use our Signal app, or Community Hubb for that. People can respond to your post from there.
