YouTube Censors Legal Discussion on Covid-19 Court Case Wins
AUGUST 24: Dr. Naomi Wolf, Rhodes Scholar, 8-time bestselling nonfiction author, advisor to President Bill Clinton’s reelection campaign and to Vice President Al Gore, co-founder of civic tech company DailyClout.io, had her YouTube channel permanently deleted after sharing an interview with Leslie Manookian. Manookian, president of Health Freedom Defense Fund (HFDF), discussed how her lawsuits against the suppression of constitutional rights successfully changed policies in CA schools and in Arizona schools; HFDF has also sued the Biden administration for its mask policy.
In June, Dr. Wolf was deplatformed from Twitter after sharing with 146,000 followers a reading of UNC researcher Dr Ralph Baric’s resume, which shows his work on gain of function research had been funded by National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Fauci. This funding was further reported on by Vanity Fair.
In Dr Wolf’s recent interview with Ms Manookian, she raised the topic of conflicts of interests in that the NIAID holds patents on COVID-19 vaccines, as documented by reports in Public Citizen and Axios.
Since the NIH allows employees who hold patents to receive up to $150,000 a year per patent, there should be a discussion of a direct financial conflict of interest for NIAID/NIH to recommend these products at the expense of other treatments, a conflict of interest surely worthy of public discussion.
In both cases of deplatforming, from Twitter and also from YouTube, Dr Wolf was reporting on matters of public interest related to Dr. Fauci’s time at NIAID, which has been largely unreported in other major news outlets.
Dr. Wolf’s interview with Manookian also sought to inform the public about the legal implications of Manookian’s recent successful court cases that had found that the mask mandates in Arizona schools were unlawful and that mandatory vaccination in Los Angeles schools were illegal; but the public was blocked from hearing this interview when YouTube removed the DailyClout channel from its platform.
Not only did YouTube remove this one interview, but it penalized the company and Dr. Wolf by cutting off this revenue stream and deleting the entire DailyClout.io channel and its entire library of videos, which had amassed more than 359,000 views.
This egregious case of censorship highlights the extreme clampdown on free speech and public discourse prevailing in the United States. Dr Wolf has an extensive history as a journalist published in every major news outlet, from The New York Times to the Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. She has been a columnist for four major platforms, from The Guardian to Project Syndicate.
Since the start of the pandemic, Dr. Wolf has turned her attention towards the data and public documents involved in the COVID-19 crisis; and much of what she’s reported on has called into question aspects of the government’s and Big Tech’s narratives and been validated by later reporting. Because of her work asking questions, sharing primary source documents and encouraging open dialogue about matters of public interest, she has been punished by social media companies who have censored her off of their platforms: Twitter in June and now YouTube in August.
While Dr. Wolf has been inaccurately called an ‘anti-vaxxer,’ she is not opposed to vaccines in general, but rather does not believe vaccine mandates and vaccine passports are Constitutional.
In this specific interview, in addition to the very significant court cases won against the California and Arizona school systems, Wolf and Manookian also discuss:
-
Implications of the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act, which allowed Health and Human Services to declare a state of emergency that grants immunity to pharmaceutical companies for testing, masks, vaccines etc. which means there can be no legal or financial ramifications for any harmful impact caused by these interventions, unless “willful misconduct” is found, which is a very high bar.
-
How the definition of pandemic has changed over time to be far more inclusive. The defining of terms is essential given that once a pandemic is declared local, state, federal and international governmental organizations can trigger emergency orders that hamper individual freedoms.
Surely a public document showing NIH funding for gain of function research that was censored by Twitter, an interview confirming public reports showing that the NIH/NIAID profits from vaccine patents that was censored by YouTube, and a discussion of two successful court cases where COVID protocols involving children at school were found to be illegal that were censored by YouTube, are matters of public interest and not ‘misinformation’ and should all be discourse we allow to take place in our society.
