Voting could start Monday Check out Orange County Districts here for your representative: This is an insidious “Gut-and-Amend” bill – originally a Transportation Bill which was gutted and filled with vaccine mandates! Sneaky!!! “Suddenly, a bill which could not pass through the Legislature legitimately in the committee process, would mandate the COVID vaccine on employees in private industry or be fired.” A.B. 455 will impose the strictest vaccine mandates in the nation on the people of California, requiring proof of the COVID vaccination before a visitor or shopper can enter an indoor “public establishment.” This includes restaurants, hotels, gyms, movie theaters, stadiums, exhibition, or entertainment halls, and more. This bill would also mandate that employees receive the COVID vaccine or weekly testing, or else face termination. A.B. 455 was originally introduced as a bill regarding transportation, but was recently stripped of the original language (a procedure called “gut-and-amend”) and replaced with new language about COVID vaccinations. • Amendment 5: 52.8. (a) Notwithstanding any other law, an establishment, as defined in subdivision (b), shall require each person who is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, who seeks to enter the indoor facilities of that establishment, to show proof to an employee or authorized agent of the establishment that the person has been vaccinated against COVID-19. If A.B. 455 is passed by the state senate, and signed by Governor Newsom, it will go into effect immediately. Thank You!
