Artist Rebecca Soudant Creates Stunning Embroidery for Pfizer Book’s Report 1, “Where Are Pfizer’s 20,000 Missing Patients?”

September 15, 2023 • by Amy Kelly

Embroidery of Report 1

Rebecca Soudant is a Canadian artist and a Visual Arts teacher. She has created works in paint, print, fabric and metal. For the last several years, embroidery has been the focus of her practice.

Ms. Soudant reached out to DailyClout several months ago indicating that she had started a project embroidering the reports from the War Room/DailyClout Pfizer Documents Analysis Reports book. She has been sharing her progress with us and recently sent the photo above which represents her artistic interpretation of Report 1, “Where Are Pfizer’s 20,000 Missing Patients?” She offered this artist’s statement on her stunning piece:

“I wonder what happened to the missing patients.  How are their Hearts? Has anything happened to their Fertility? The people in my embroidery hold their questions up in front of their faces. The question mark becomes both the question and the answer as it evolves into a vicious clothes hanger and takes flight (the clothes hanger being a symbol for consumerism).  In my embroidered interpretation of Report 1, the people are fading in colour like ghosts. It scares me.”

If you would like to see other pieces Ms. Soudant has embroidered to represent reports from the book, as well as to possibly assist her with this project if you also embroider, please see the “Call to Artists” post as well as the posts about her embroidery for Report 13 and Report 5. Additionally, Ellen Danforth, a War Room/DailyClout Pfizer Documents Project volunteer, is also embroidering pieces for this project, and you may see her contributions here.
DailyClout is grateful that Ms. Soudant has chosen to use her immense talent and donate her time to illustrate the War Room/DailyClout Pfizer Documents Analysis Reports book. We will share other images with you as they come available.

Rebecca Soudant is a Canadian artist.  She works mostly with oil paint and embroidery.  Rebecca created ‘A Tapestry of Birth,’ which is part of the permanent collection at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre.
