An Act To Amend Title 7 Of The Delaware Code Relating To State Parks. [HB-235]
This bill provides that a veteran or member of the armed forces of the United States who has honorably served or is honorably serving, resides in the State of Delaware and owns a motor vehicle registered in the State of Delaware shall receive a 50% discount on the annual fee for vehicle entrance to state parks and recreation areas.

An Act To Amend Title 11 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Fines, Costs, Penalties And Forfeitures. [HB-240]
This bill creates an additional penalty of $100.00 which shall be imposed on all crimes committed against persons 62 years of age or older. The penalty assessment shall be placed in a special fund called the “Senior Trust Fund” which shall be used to provide assistance for programs for the senior population.

An Act To Amend Volume 77, Chapter 375, Laws Of Delaware, Relating To Disposition Of Children Pending Adjudication And Payment For Care. [HB-252]
This bill serves to remove the two-year sunset provision from the amendment of Title 10, Section 1007 of the Delaware Code, signed into law on July 12, 2010. The 2010 amendment of Title 10, Section 1007 of the Delaware Code expanded the list of possible acts for which a child could be detained in a secure facility, while simultaneously providing significant safeguards against the abuse of discretion on these grounds. An Act To Amend Title 10 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Juvenile Competency. [HB-253]
Our legal system has long required that defendants be competent to stand trial. Furthermore, our legal system is increasingly placing children in much the same role as adults when it comes to trying and sentencing those children. This Act establishes a procedure for the evaluation of the competency of a child for the purpose of Family Court proceedings. A child’s competency may be raised by either party or by the Court itself. An Act To Amend Title 29 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Hazardous Duty Pay. [HB-262]
This Bill provides that employees serving in security-related or high-risk positions may be eligible for hazardous duty pay. Those positions would be designated by the Chief Justice in accord with the needs of each court. Funding for this additional pay would come from the Court Security Fund, established by 10 Del.
