Explanation of H.R.6744

This bill, titled the "No VA Resources for Illegal Aliens Act," aims to prohibit the Secretary of Veterans Affairs from providing health care to individuals unlawfully present in the United States who are not eligible for health care under the laws administered by the Secretary. By doing so, it also restricts the Secretary from engaging in claims processing for health care for these individuals.

In simpler terms, this bill seeks to prevent undocumented immigrants who are not eligible for health care benefits under existing laws from receiving health care services from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and from having their claims processed by the VA.

The bill was introduced by Mr. Bost, along with Mr. Self, Mr. Bergman, Mr. Scott Franklin of Florida, Mrs. Miller-Meeks, and Mr. Murphy. It was then referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs for further consideration.
