Federal Land Freedom Act of 2017 [S.335]
Federal Land Freedom Act of 2017 This bill authorizes a state with an established oil and gas leasing program to take responsibility from the federal government for leasing and regulating the exploration and development of oil, gas, and other forms of energy on federal land in the state. Any state actions to lease, permit, or regulate oil and gas exploration and development shall not be subject to federal action under certain laws, including the Administrative Procedure Act, the Endangered Species Act of 1973, and the National Environmental Policy

Workplace Advancement Act This bill amends the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to prohibit discharging or retaliating against any employee because such employee has inquired about, discussed, or disclosed comparative compensation information for the purpose of determining whether the employer is compensating an employee in a manner that provides equal pay for equal work. STOP Act of 2017 Synthetics Trafficking and Overdose Prevention Act of 2017 This bill amends the Tariff Act of 1930 to make the Postmaster General the consignee (i.e., the entity financially responsible for the receipt of a shipment) for merchandise, excluding documents, imported through the mail into the United States. The Postmaster General must designate licensed customs brokers to file required documents or information for such shipments. The bill amends the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 to impose a customs user fee

Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area Act This bill establishes the Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area to include specified counties in the states of Maryland and West Virginia. The bill designates the Appalachian Forest Heritage Area, Inc., as the local coordinating entity for the area. The bill also requires the Appalachian Forest Heritage Area, Inc., to submit a management plan that provides for the protection, enhancement, and interpretation of cultural, natural, historical, educational, scenic, and recreational resources of the area.

New Markets Tax Credit Extension Act of 2017 This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code to: (1) make permanent the new markets tax credit, (2) provide for an inflation adjustment to the limitation amount for such credit after 2016, and (3) allow an offset against the alternative minimum tax for such credit (determined with respect to qualified equity investments initially made after 2016).

Furthering Access to Stroke Telemedicine Act This bill amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to specify that certain siting requirements applicable under the Medicare program shall not apply to telehealth services that are furnished after 2017 for purposes of evaluating an acute stroke. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services shall not pay an originating-site facility fee with respect to such telehealth services.
