Explanation of House Bill No. 667:

This bill would require the Ohio Government Telecommunications Service to broadcast all standing committee meetings of the Ohio House of Representatives as they happen. This means that these meetings would be available to the public through audio feeds and, when possible, video feeds. The broadcasts would be archived on the Ohio government telecommunications service website for future access. The focus of the video coverage would be on individual members speaking rather than a wide shot of the entire committee room. In cases where there are not enough personnel or equipment to broadcast all committee hearings with video feeds, there would be rules in place to prioritize which hearings are broadcast.
