Providing deputy shall continue to discharge duties of any principal until successor is elected or appointed [SB-205]
The purpose of this bill is to provide that when there is a death, conviction or impeachment, failure to qualify, resignation or other disability of any principal officer, a deputy shall continue to discharge the duties of the principal until a successor is elected or appointed. The existing statute only deals with a situation where the principal dies.

Preventing State Board of Education from implementing common core academic standards [SB-271]
The purpose of this bill is to prevent the State Board of Education from implementing common core academic standards and assessments; to establish a process and criteria for the state to develop alternate academic standards and assessments; to prohibit the state board from entering into any agreement which requires implementation of common core standards or limits Constitutional authority and obligation to provide a thorough and efficient system of education; and requiring the state board to report to the Legislative Oversight Commission on Education
