Relating to erroneous tax assessments and overpayments to the county [HB-2865]
The purpose of this bill is to create a method by which aggrieved taxpayers, who believe that they were erroneously assessed or overpaid taxes based on an overestimation or unintentional mistake, may seek additional review by the State Auditor in order to reverse an adverse decision by a county commission. The bill clarifies that relief may be sought for overpayment of taxes by a taxpayer. The bill establishes a process to petition the Auditor for additional review of a county commission’s decision. Relating to the licensing of advance deposit wagering [HB-2913]
The purpose of this bill is to provide for the licensing of advance deposit wagering. The bill provides for source market fees. The bill provides for the distribution of those fees from wagers made by account holders but not within thirty miles of any licensed racing association, for distribution of those fees from wagers made by account holders located within thirty miles of a licensed racing association, and for distribution of those fees from wagers made by account holders located within thirty miles of two or more licensed racing associations.

Relating generally to additional county excise taxes on the privilege of transferring real property [HB-2970]
The purpose of this bill is to repeal §8A-12-21 which imposes an additional county excise tax on the privilege of transferring real property for the purposes of funding farmland preservation, and to replace the same by amending §11-22-2 to add subsection (c) which allows an additional county excise tax on the privilege of transferring real property for the purposes of funding the county farmland preservation program and the operations, programs and activities of the local economic development corporation or authority.
