House Bill Summary:
This bill proposes that North Carolina adopt daylight saving time year-round if authorized by Congress. Currently, the state and its political subdivisions follow the time designated by the United States Department of Transportation under the Uniform Time Act of 1966. If Congress allows it, North Carolina would observe daylight saving time throughout the entire year.
Within 60 days of Congress authorizing this change, the Commissioner of Agriculture will notify the Governor, who will then implement the new time zone designation.
This bill will become effective upon becoming law.
