As introduced, enacts "Akilah's Law," which creates the offense of selling, offering to sell, delivering, or transferring a firearm to a person knowing the person has been a patient in a mental institution at any time within the previous five years. - Amends TCA Title 33 and Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13.

AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 67-4-409, relative to the local parks land acquisition fund. [HB-125]
As introduced, requires a county or municipal government that receives a grant from the local parks land acquisition fund for a project located within a county designated as distressed or at-risk by the Appalachian Regional Commission at the time of the grant application to match the grant with an amount of money equal to 25 percent of the project, instead of requiring a match with an amount of money equal to the grant. - Amends TCA Section 67-4-409.

AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 9; Title 33; Title 52; Title 67 and Title 68, relative to relief for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. [HB-717]
As introduced, enacts the "Caring for Caregivers Act," which requires the department to create and administer a three-year family caregiver grant pilot program to provide grants to caregivers of family members diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia to offset expenditures incurred by the caregivers. - Amends TCA Title 9; Title 33; Title 52; Title 67 and Title 68.

As introduced, defines the terms "serious risk of substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function" and "lethal fetal anomaly"; specifies that a physician does not commit the offense of criminal abortion if, under certain circumstances, the physician performs or attempts to perform an abortion to address a lethal fetal anomaly or a premature delivery of an unborn child with a lethal fetal anomaly. - Amends TCA Title 4; Title 29; Title 33; Title 37; Title 39; Title 40; Title 53; Title 56; Title 62; Title 63; Title 68 and Title 71.

AN ACT to amend Chapter 68 of the Private Acts of 1937; as amended by Chapter 63 of the Private Acts of 2003; and any other acts amendatory thereto, relative to Hardeman County. [HB-1434]
Subject to local approval, increases, from 85 percent to 92 percent, the assumed property tax collection rate in setting the general tax rate for the county general fund and creating a county budget that covers expenditures for the next appropriation year. - Amends Chapter 68 of the Private Acts of 1937; as amended.

As introduced, requires an increase in funding for positions or office expenses for the department of children's services in child protective services to be accompanied by an increase in funding of 75 percent of the increase in funding to the contracts of the child advocacy center in each judicial district; requires the department of children's services to increase the base amount of each child advocacy center contract. - Amends TCA Title 9; Title 12; Title 37; Title 39 and Title 49.
