Natural Resources - Vessels - No-Discharge Designation for Maryland Waters [HB-1257]
Clarifying provisions relating to the duties of operators of vessels with respect to the overboard discharge of treated and untreated sewage into the waters of the State; increasing the maximum amount of the penalty for violations of specified provisions to $10,000; authorizing specified officers to enforce specified provisions of law and to inspect specified vessels; and requiring the State to initiate a process with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to designate Maryland waters as a no-discharge zone.

Authorizing the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City or the governing body of a county or municipal corporation to grant, by law, a property tax credit against county or municipal corporation property tax imposed on real property leased to a nonprofit school and used exclusively for primary or secondary educational purposes; authorizing the county or municipal corporation to provide for provisions to carry out the credit; making the Act applicable to all taxable years beginning after June 30, 2010; etc.
