Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act

This bill requires covered employers in the health care and social service industries to develop and implement workplace violence prevention plans to protect employees from violence in the workplace.

Workplace Violence Prevention Plan: Covered employers must develop, implement, and maintain a written plan for workplace violence prevention that addresses specific risks and hazards in their facilities or services.
Violent Incident Investigation: Employers must conduct investigations after workplace violence incidents and document findings and corrective measures.
Training and Education: Employers are required to provide training on workplace violence prevention methods for employees exposed to hazards.
Recordkeeping: Employers must maintain records related to workplace violence risk assessments and incidents for at least 5 years.

Amendments to the Social Security Act:

This section of the bill extends the requirements of the Workplace Violence Prevention Standard to certain facilities receiving Medicare funds, including hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
