Allows any burial council member whose term has expired to continue in office as a holdover member until the member's reappointment to a second term is confirmed or a successor is nominated and appointed. Prohibits holdover members from holding office beyond the end of the fourth regular session of the legislature following the expiration of the member's term of office. (SD2)
Relating To Boards And Commissions. [SB-2477]
Provides for the term expiration of a holdover member of a board or commission at the end of the first regular legislative session following the expiration of the member's term. Provides that the provisions of section 26-34, HRS, shall prevail over other inconsistent laws. If a holdover member's term is set to expire and the Governor fails to nominate a successor, authorizes the President of the Senate to nominate a successor for that board or commission.

Requires the senate to consider the reconfirmation of the member at least sixty days before the member's term expires. Clarifies that holdover members shall not serve as members of the board of education beyond the end of the first regular session of the legislature following the expiration of the member's term unless duly appointed by the governor and confirmed by the senate.
