About HB-4986

Authorizes U.S. contributions to the Green Climate Fund, a fund established under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to finance projects to address climate change. Specifically, the bill authorizes contributions as necessary to

  • (1) achieve the greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals under the Paris Agreement, and
  • (2) exceed the commitment by developed countries to jointly mobilize $100 billion for climate financing each year.
