SENATE BILL No. 1206

     A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

 

"Michigan election law,"

 

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 31b.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 31b. (1) Within 24 hours after the election results for a

 

statewide election conducted under this act have been properly

 

certified, the secretary of state shall provide a detailed report

 

of those election results on the department of state's website. The

 

detailed report must include all of the following:

 

     (a) Election results for the offices of governor and

 

lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and

 

United States Senator that include, but are not limited to,

 

election results for each of these offices from each election

 

precinct in this state.

 


     (b) Election results for each statewide ballot proposal that

 

include, but are not limited to, election results for each

 

statewide ballot proposal from each election precinct in this

 

state.

 

     (c) The number of absent voter ballots cast in each election

 

precinct in this state for each office and statewide ballot

 

proposal described in subdivisions (a) and (b).

 

     (2) If any election precinct in this state does not certify

 

its election results for a statewide office or statewide ballot

 

proposal described in subsection (1) within 24 hours after the

 

polls close, the secretary of state shall note that untimely

 

certification in the detailed report and notify the city or

 

township clerk responsible for that election precinct of an audit

 

of election records for all election precincts in his or her city

 

or township.
