amending title 31, chapter 2, article 6, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 31-283; relating to the prisoner transition program.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 31, chapter 2, article 6, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 31-283, to read:

START_STATUTE31-283. Transitional housing; contracts; state licensed facilities

Notwithstanding section 31-282, for one year following the effective date of this section and on the expiration of any contract to provide transitional housing services for inmates that was entered into before the effective date of this section and that expires after the effective date of this section, the department may enter into a contract to provide transitional housing services for inmates only with a state licensed facility.END_STATUTE
